Recipe: Avocado Chocolate Shake

Is avocado a good fruit or a bad fruit?  It seems it is, especially if you're cutting down grain carbs.  But since when do I make consumption decision based on a food's health benefits?  I don't.  But I should.

Anyway, we saw avocados on sale the other day - 10 for $10 and get one more free.  Just had to get some.


This is our tall Tiger beer glass :o)


Ingredients (Makes 2 cups)

  • 1 ripe avocado (skin will be black and the fruit is slightly soft when you gently squeeze it)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1.5 cups of ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoon of Hershey's chocolate syrup (use the lite version lah)

1. Cut avocado in half - bear in mind there's a giant pit in the center of the fruit.
2. Scoop flesh into blender.
3. Add milk and ice cubes.
4. Puree/liquify etc until smooth.
5. Pour into glass, pour chocolate syrup on top.
6. Serve.

You can choose to blend the chocolate syrup into the avocado too, but the end product doesn't look as attractive...


This is how it ends up look if you blend the chocolate in.
